relatedly, this scene in zou when sanji was away and he says "I told you to let that idiot go" but did he really mean that? OF COURSE NO. he'd seem like he's being harsh to a crew member and don't give a fuck if luffy didn't point out he's actually worried (zolu telepathy we go)+
anw the message is he's saying luffy shouldn't be depressed. it may seem he lacks empathy, but he's been that way esp post ts. like he's being tough on luffy but that's his way of caring. (plus things happened affected this behavior but that'll be on another thread) +
