Since Bender's Big Score is in widescreen, the flashback scenes of when the show was full screen had to be reanimated in Korea based on the original storyboards. That's why it looks so seamless.

Absolutely. In Batman: The Animated Series, one of the most moving episodes was "It's Never Too Late", which revolved around a mobster and his priest brother. It evokes an element of faith without feeling forced or proselytizing. Today, it'd never make it past the storyboards.
