This is the second time I've read Tantalus as Tarantulas and considering he has a VERY casually gay story arc with Prowl in the IDW comics it fully did not register until I realised we were talking about Olympic Odes and Poseidon.

30 days of Final Fantasy Day 20: Should have their own side game! The Tantalus Theatre troupe! This team was always interesting to me and they were criminally under utilised in the full game. And there's enough of them to make up a full main cast for an FF game!

Tantalus, made to stand in a pool of water but never able to drink from it & quench his insatiable thirst as it drains whenever he bends to drink.
As an added frustration, he was positioned below a tree but can never quite grasp the succulent fruit that hangs from its boughs.
