Honestly I really enjoyed the focus on Piccolo and Gohan, I hope future DragonBall films go a similar route telling stories for characters who aren't Goku or Vegeta.

Super Broly was better but I liked this one

Since u asked. It has been explicitly stated multiple times he has the most potential/latent ability even more so than Goku/Vegeta. They would never say that about Goten lol.
Besides if you think they will ever develop Goten to anywhere near Gohan you're living in fantasy land.
