“Waid, Asrar, and co. all know what kind of story they’re telling, and lean into the bombastic event elements to great effect.”

Waid said those things given he was attacked and hounded but the story itself doesn’t represent his statements at all. 1000 years happy ending.

A few months later, Kesel would admit in an interview he "couldn't figure out what to do with the character" over the course of the run.

Unsurprisingly, Mark Waid's underwhelming run was heavily inspired by Kesel. https://t.co/ndYXixkX8X

This is one of those Waid moments where I go “fucking WHAT?”

In honor of Jr.'s birthday, I'd like to share this classic story by James Owsley, M.D. Bright, Jose Marzan JR, Robert Greenberger, Tim Harkins, Anthony Tollin, and Mark Waid.

The Brave and the Bold are BACK! (This hits especially hard after reading Mark Waid’s Flash/Green Lantern book.)

FF (1998) by Claremont & Larocca
Claremont writes a damn good F4, its crazy, all over the place and has great characterization. Valerias 1st appearance is here.
FF (1998) by Pacheco & Loeb
Fun little arc, a good lead in before Waid

Three of my favorite recent villains: Ikari from the Waid run; Muse from the Soule run; and Lady Bullseye from the Brubaker run. Which is your favorite?

The Flash 2022 Annual:

A stellar tale of love, with a bunch of Easter eggs for moments from The Flash

Picking bits out from Baron, Loebs, Waid and John's. This is 40 pages of wonder, with a twist and question posed at the end

If you want to take an actual look at how Sue Storm is allowed to be utilized as a character, just look at the difference between how Waid writes her as part of a team vs on her own.

Agreed it's my favorite run of The Flash since Geoff Johns , New 52 and Mark Waid's run on Wally West Flash. This feels a bit like The CW Flash TV Series but also giving us something new for Barry Allen to come up against plus so many great Flash Family moments ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️

This is the dumbest way of saying "It's clobberin' time" I've ever seen. I love Todd Dezago, but it tries to be too clever and fails.
That's every pre-2003 FF book done though. Next will be the Waid/Wieringo run, but lots of other comics I might choose to read before I do that.

I've read the first volume of Doctor Strange by Mark Waid and it's awesome! It's such a fun take on the character. I love how innovative and creative it is. The art is gorgeous. Can't wait to read more!
