Trying out Oculus's Air Link and it's good! Been having to do weird workarounds to get Medium to work before. Anyway I think I'm done with this sculpt. Too many things behind the scenes but I really want to get back into Medium.

Obv the skin color was a big limit so i had to choose the normal color. sry;;

The workaround for the eyes i thought was creative using the eye patch to simulate the dark eye

Ok, I think I found a workaround to using the shader to RGB node in cycles. This is huge, cause it means I can use cycles effects (better shadows etc) for stuff. Follow me if you dont wanna miss the tutorial.

Indeed. It was a workaround. I mean, part of the charm for these characters are that they aren't overused so their appearances mean something. Turning them into regulars, for me, is an absurdity. But that's me.

I think I found a workaround for my photoshop phobia. Build it in illustrator then just dodge and burn in photoshop. That doesn't seem to be so scary. よくなっている！

Unfortunately with the method we used to unlock these (basically setting a flag in the shop data that says these are "purchasable"), we can't add colors past 16, although we are looking for a workaround.

i inflate the fills so there's just a TINY bit of overlap of the shadow on top of the lines. once it's set to multiply, the overlap disappears. sometimes when you delete vectors, flash does this thing where it slightly shifts the remaining lines, so this is a workaround for it

I don't think it's a coincidence that early 2000s Flash cartoons borrowed from the UPA look- there was a stylistic resurgence in Cartoon Modernism from the 90s, but the digital tools lent themselves to the same kinds of workarounds used in the 50s/60s
