海上護衛戦、コロンバンガラ島沖海戦等に参加
1943年:第七戦隊司令官西村祥治少将の指揮下で行動中夜間空襲を受け沈没した駆逐艦夕暮の救援におもむく途上、夜間空襲を受けて撃沈、乗員の9割以上が戦死した
