Also finally got around to designing Skyfire's cockpit, which I based on the OG Space Shuttle cockpits cause I'm a sucker for vintage cockpits & the Space Shuttles. I mean, it makes sense (sorta) he's a spaceship! 😅

Fresh off finishing S4 of The Expanse and feeling mighty inspired. The Pirou class light transport, inspired by Belters, scaled as a HVA for Mobile Frame Zero: Intercept Orbit. Fiddled with a custom decal to pull off a cockpit of sorts.

Odd thing I've noticed is some cockpit sprites have two versions to properly denote where their scars or moles would be when flipped (1-3), whereas others like Lockon (4th) don't. Don't know if the ripper didn't extract them or the game actually didn't bother to do them all.

Ah, this makes sense. So in SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays, you don't get enough of a good look at them with all the particle effects and cropped cut-ins, but all the cockpits are 3D modeled and exported as really high res sprites. A seated shadow is baked in too.

DID YOU KNOW? The rotating cockpit design of the B-wing was based on early concept art for the Millennium Falcon. The craft's thin shape was problematic for blue-screen photography; the model tended to blend into the starfield. Continued 👇👇
