20 novembre 1759: bataille des Cardinaux. L'escadre de Brest du comte de Conflans est battue par l'escadre anglaise de l'amiral Hawke. Sur cette peinture de Nicholas Pocock, le Soleil Royal, vaisseau amiral français, est un trois-ponts. C'était en fait un deux-ponts de 80 canons.
