@GoranGligovic Howe's compositions are so good. One of my all time favorite scenes from the Silmarillion, rarely has good art (imo) because they always take 1 metaphor and blow it out of proportion (Morgoth looming like a mountain or something) but Howe's "fingolfin's challenge" is amazing
Siege of Angband by John Howe. One of my favorite pieces of Tolkien art; really captures what reading The Silmarillion felt like to me.
Me and the bois re-reading the Silmarilion to criticize on-screen adaptations more accurately

Звісно, тільки після того, як завершився мій #ТижденьТолкіна я згадала, що в мене є ще портретик Маедроса.

'Turambar and Glaurung' – John Howe
‘Hail, Worm of Morgoth! Well met again! Die now and the darkness have thee! Thus is Túrin son of Húrin avenged.’
'The Silmarillion' by J R R Tolkien
'Glorfindel and the Balrog' by John Howe, classic battle from one of the darkest chapters in 'The Silmarillion' by J. R. R. Tolkien.
Завершу свій #ТижденьТолкіна тредом з незавершеними скетчами.
Шось мені в них подобається, але завершувати вже немає бажання.

'Fingolfin's Challenge' (1992) by John Howe, one of my favorite battles in 'The Silmarillion' by J. R. R. Tolkien.
'Fall of Gondolin' by John Howe. Brilliantly captures one of the darkest chapters in 'The Silmarillion' by J. R. R. Tolkien.
