It's also dumb that the novel, written by the movie's screenwriter, says the same when both adaptations are different in some ways. SP Naruto saw Sakura as a trophy to compete for while Kishimoto's Naruto loved Sakura for almost 700 chapters, even when Sasuke wasn't around.

Its kinda hard to tell if you don’t know much about those religions but kishimoto pushes it pretty hard. It’s why the “chosen one” storyline introduced in p2 makes perfect sense as a Buddhism allegory. This image alone speaks to it nicely.
