I goofed & drew the wrong bird originally. Their state bird is the Northern Flicker (commonly called a Yellowhammer, which can be easily confused with the other bird actually named yellowhammer)
there's a japanese term "紅葉に鹿" (Kōyō ni shika) or "もみじにしか" (momiji ni shika) which roughly translates to "deer in autumn leaves." It is a motif commonly used in Japanese poetry and paintings, as well as an idiom meaning "match made in heaven" or "perfect match"
