I finally turned those pumpkin icons into a repeat pattern. Which do you prefer, light or dark version?

When making a repeat pattern I always find it tricky to make sure all the icons are balanced.

Does anyone know of some helpful videos or courses that makes this easier?

Here's my take on a realistic basilisk:
It's a ground dwelling relative of Hoatzins whose pheasant-like tail feathers feature a scale pattern.
Settlers named them basilisks because this bird stinks big time and some poisoned a well when they fell inside.

8 years ago today I made the first sketch for my bat pattern. Early prototypes had fur ruffs I got rid of the nose, ruff, and velcro to make it easier to write the pattern. I didn't have the experience to explain how to attach them.
