ages often do not match up to a character. and can be arbitrarily assigned.
so if its not the looks its the age assigned to the character?

Wolf3D is a brilliant game. I didn't have a PC at the time, so it was a long time before I got to play it properly. But it's still so so well designed. Holds up well, even today.
