2) also not true necessarily. You do not need to get the EXACT dark shade, as long as the background colors are similarly lightened and desaturated. See : these values are fairly light but we know he is brown skinned and the jacket is black.

Like with the white in particular it always just looks like denim to me, lol

But in saying that the Mu's Wonderland set isn't so bad because it's notably less desaturated. So yes this is objectively one of the best Umi cards ever made <3

Fun challenge to learn ab relative color:
- Pick a color, preferably something desaturated
- Draw a flower with that color
- That is now a white flower. Paint the rest of the drawing to make it look white
Mine are still hit or miss, but I did learn things

I've gotten a decent amount of work done on his face, still far from finished though! after his head, the hard part will be done at least! I went through several different color schemes for his skin, in the end I went with a very desaturated skin color to compliment his hair.
