To be clear, Superman’s arm is still pretty mushy — his upper arm’s too short and the hand’s slapdash, giving what should be a nice solid right-leaning pose an unfitting sense of weightlessness — but that bit of white on the forearm at least lends some just-add-water depth to it.

While I prefer the 1st form, the rex does has its moments.

I get why Naohiro Washio, the mechanical designer of the Barbatos went with the Rex design. The Elongated arms, sharpened claws, tail blade and built in 200mm Guns in the forearms make it look beastly yet uncomplicated.

It's 2/3 - 1/2 of his forearm. It was pretty ugly and craggly at first, but it wore down over time so it's not that dramatic any more!
