@Setrael I say when making colorful characters to choose 2-3 give or take. Colorful outfits also help! Choosing complementary colors and the magic that is color theory is great.
Offsetting with a "natural" color is helpful too or a darker & more saturated hue of another color on them

The goal is to build or make a base through shapes/painting not drawing! Drawing is just for adding details :)
(Maybe doing everything in one layer would be helpful?)
@qiwipanini hopefully this is a little helpful? a lot of it really just depends on what “feels right” to me with posing! the upside down egg torso works with most characters (with a bit of variation) except tails, who has more of a bean-shaped torso. it took a bit to learn to do it right,,
