On a cold clear day in late November, as the sun was setting, I drew at the Upper Falls Heritage Park in Connecticut by the remains of an old mill. Norwich was a town of water-powered industry and in the last century, my great-great grandfather lived here.

Nurse born 4 Dec 1865 & helped over 200 allied soldiers to escape from occupied Belgium. Shot for treason by the Germans in 1915, the return of her coffin to saw thousands of people line the streets to pay their respects.
