Remember the Lava Lotus from the underwater levels of SMB3? Dinosaur Land has its own species of the plant that grows on land! It relaeases burning seeds in the exact same pattern, but these ones are harder to pass since you can't just swim over them now.

@rmgraphics_ A small amount of the original game's art had the same color scheme as the sprites, and all of the art in Super Mario Advance was updated to have the correct coloring. So overall I'd say the color of the sprites are much more recognizable when it comes to SMB2.
