It's a combo of skeletal based animations and using normal map textures to make it look 3d. In Unity the sprites are rendered on a flat mesh. The creature has a skeleton that I can use to move the polygons around.

I wanted to try to do some textures with acrylic for this one contrasted with smooth shading and shapes. It's about seeing paradoxes and contradictions as they are and coming to terms with confusion and nonsensical scripts

The technique here is a combination of traditional painting and 3D art. The old and the new. The background is painted similar to the original painting with many dots and textures. The foreground is 3D but with a twisted perspective. Flat, a way to combine the 2 techniques.
