I did loosely reference historical knight armor, but only for the rough shape and how light reflects on it. The composition is mine too. More than anything I’m inspired by a modern artist: Ruan Jia, but I didn’t steal anything. Here’s an early version of the painting

So, the reasons I don't like this one I mostly due to colour choices and the background, the composition is super lacking and the colours are just too harsh. I haven't put enough contrast in, which makes the panel bit confusing to me 😬
