Layer modes (esp overlay) can mess with your pic's contrast balance, & change perceived color as a result.

(Also: I didn't lighten the lines in 2/3 to match hair closer. This can throw off perceived colors too, but many art styles use much darker lines.)

Color done. Not as spontaneously as the original, but I still like this as a base piece for an album cover or something along those lines. I keep thinking of the American McGee Alice, so yeah, she kinda went more goth than is traditional, but I like it. So there.
