アビドスを卒業後、シャーレの職員として教育実習生となったホシノは、長期出張中の先生の留守を預かる忙しい日々を送っていた。
そんな中で耳にした、奇妙な都市伝説。顔馴染みの生徒にも被害が及んでいるそれを調査する中で、ホシノはかつての悪意に直面する。

大オアシスでの一件から数日。シャーレを爆破されたために住む場所がなくなった先生は、事後処理もあり、アビドス高校に滞在することになる。
一方、ホシノは自分の感情がゲマトリアの手によって操作されたことから、自分の中にある“とある想い”に自信が持てなくなっていた。

先輩を喪い、巨大な負債と化した居場所を守り続けるホシノの元に訪れた、予期せぬ来訪者と小さな狼。
この街はもう、誰かを不幸にしかできない。そう頑なに信じるホシノは、アビドスの継承を求める二人の入学希望を認めず、“勝負”としてある条件を突きつける。
