Since posting the room cutaways last week, I've been getting DMs about the process. The steps are as follows:

1. Make detailed design notes
2. Rough sketch
3. Gather real world refs
4. Build rough 3d
5. Finish

I noticed that in old manga, things that are supposed to be black are actually a cloudy gray with some white specks in it from the printing process. So I decided to try and achieve that effect in Blender. I think I got fairly close.
