A tip I saw from @/Hamm_Tips which I think more artists should remember: Art submissions shouldn't be treated as marriage proposals (rejection is devastating). It should be treated like fishing -- rejections and recasting your hook are expected.

Now that you say it, I can kinda see how that might have influenced my style. Honestly, growing up with public broadcasting was what inspired me to pursue this kind of "nostalgic" kind of art. I find that these shows in particular may have sparked it. Thanks for pointing it out!
