Here is a great example of CONTRAST. We see the round eye vs the angular, compressed furious eye...and the emotion in the brows too. Really impressed with the animation and I was BLOWN away by EVERYTHING in episode 3. Holy cow!

biases aside (lol), i rly like this cover cuz of its contrast w/ the volume content. the chapters themselves are about war ! blood ! death ! and then the vol cover is sumn super calm and grounded and bkg is also very contemplative & thoughtful here

your eye/brow expressions create a graphic patch in your eyemask. This graphic shape can be a great way to make sure your expression reads clearly & w/ contrast to other poses (i.e. brow tension breaks the curve, etc)

Love this tutorial on painting blood/jelly. Compared to painting wine, I see two differences below:

1. An overal limited value range due to thick substance
2. The biggest contrast is in the edges, where the shapes recede and become thicker.
