I think Logan wolf fur rendering is about there. I'll try to use blur tool or blur effect to blend the fur. Next will use pen ink outline to give Logan some outlines to tighten it.

was working on a new pin, assembled from cut acrylic but between the size of the pin (about 2 inches) and the heat of the laser, the sides blew out a bit while cutting the black outline area.
might give this one another go, removing the black outlines from the lettering

Pretty simple: tentacles are four giant single hairs, and the texture is half blue gradient, half off-white, lines in the middle and side to mimic the model's 3D outline. The hairs have a diamond cross-section, so adjusted the texture to have the blue on top and white underneath.
