Dec 22nd - 'The Adoration of the Magi' (1609) by Rubens. Descriptions of the magus Balthazar as an African king date back to Bede, and the first paintings depicting him as such to the 1400s. Rubens's Balthazar is based on his own posthumous portrait of Mulay Ahmad, King of Tunis.
