I did an incomplete study of Souls on the Banks of the Acheron by Adolf Hirémy-Hirschl because it's probably my fav Greek Mythology painting.

It's always a weird challenge to recreate traditional art in digital! :o

I can finally show my artwork I did for the Rune Zine. The rune Dagaz represents the light, daytime, dawn, enlightenment. I decided to portray these concepts through the myth of Ask and Embla, the first humans in norse mythology. Both were created by the Æsir from the trees.

Core to Aeres are themes of therianthropy, a staple throughout mythology. Humans transformed into animalistic forms, either from a divine curse, or willfully through magic. Metaphor is the intent. Today, pop culture co-opts these myths, proving their universality.

!pray Caipora is a figure of Brazilian folklore, considered the protector of animals and guardian of forests.
Its origin is in the indigenous Tupi-Guarani mythology. From the Tupi, the word “caipora” (caapora) means “inhabitant of the bush”.
