I may not be the best at debating people, or offering insightful messages, but I can draw shitty pictures and I can haul water and medical supplies around for a few hours a few times a week, so thats what I’m doing.

Semi-annual fanart post to celebrate the Solstice; this time it's Alban Helfin in the northern hemisphere, & Alban Arthan in the southern.

Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the freedom of all enslaved people in the US. On this day in 1865 Major General Gordon Granger of the Union Army landed in Galveston, TX with news that Civil War had ended & slavery was abolished.⁣⁣ (1/2)

Today is Juneteenth, a very important moment in American history. It is also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Liberation Day. Today is recognized as which slavery was entirely abolished in all of the U.S. states and its territories.

Oh no we are not trying to recreate Sarah Baartman on the internet. If only people could see the symbolism in their actions. This only further fuels stereotypes that black women are hyper sexual and work mules for men. 🤦🏽‍♀️ 🤦🏽‍♀️

One of the things I am happy with is the symbolism with the 3 core mascots which not only represented the 3 regions of the Bay Area (SF, Oakland, Silicon Valley) but named after the 3 precious metals & represent the 3 primary colors, perfect for the 3 single day badges.

i think its funny that dave continually says hes "no hero" and how his broken sword was supposed to be symbolism for that and how bros unbroken sword was him being "a hero" when opposite was true in both cases and this panel really solidifies it for me.
