finally flipped the couple and started laying down color. I like the idea of adding a teeny bit of purple where darker shadows should be to liven things up, so I'll probably go back into some areas later. Need to fix his hair; BG still up in the air.

Quick arm studies in 4 passages:
1) Sketch + fill with a solid color
2) Lock the layer and block in the darker areas
3) Block in the light
4) Refine
Keeping the last passage short will considerably speed up the process.
Hard round brush with opacity control is my fav for these

Day 20: Another Style

I went with my friend, 's style! They use lots of gradients to shade rather than cell shading.

I think I could learn to do that so I don't have so many flat areas in my art.
