I was then trying to figure out what color to use in the background. I wasn't sure if I was going to go dark or light or what color to use that would go well with her orange skin and blue montrals or her reddish brown outfit. I tried different colors digitally.

Did a background. Been trying to approach backgrounds from a less technical standpoint because I feel like trying to be insanely accurate is why many don't like it. Stylize background like you would w/ characters, have fun!
