about "Perspective" ( Things closest to the camera are bigger than things further from it ) & the "Line of Action".

If you want a silly genuine answer i personally usually block out shapes with a big brush first! Its important to kind of understand and get a basic idea down for what perspective you're going for :) i may not be an expert but this helps me personally
