@hanimeme_ @krembeni Geass has a very interesting stylistic mix by nature of having CLAMP designs with animation models by Takahiro Kimura, who's previous works are perfect examples of the kind of over the top designs that were in a lot of anime from the late 90s and early/mid 00s
@krembeni lots of people here blame clamp but they i think kept the 90s-ish artstyle into the 2000s longer than most other anime designs did. I remember when i thought code geass was older than it actually was because it still retains elements of 90s designs despite being late 2000s

Coming to the realization that it's VERY likely one of the reasons I was drawn to CLAMP's work in the first place was that the way Mokona used to draw eyes sort of evokes the style in which Leiji Matsumoto drew eyes, which I always loved.....
