Aimed at moving large numbers of troops across long distances, it was still being developed when the prototype was destroyed by US aircraft in May 1945.

One of my all time favourite artists is Eric Ravilious (1903-42 ) I find his work very relaxing and it saddens me when I think of his sad death whilst serving as a war artist. The aircraft he was in was lost off Iceland
