Originally Final Fantasy 1 didn't have a Cid. In later ports/remakes a mention of Cid *was* added to keep the "Cid in every FF game" thing going

It's unlikely but it would be REALLY cool if Eminem over here is FF1's Cid who died fighting Chaos/Golbez/Whatever before FF1 started

The first is Cid, our main mc, who I think should be voiced by Takuya Eguchi (Japanese VA of Hachiman Hikigaya).
The way that he can be monotone, but also express normal emotions would be perfect for Cid, and the added inner monologue would give a lot more development to Cid.
