First up is Gar. We went with ash blond and when Chocobikies was looking for references/inspiration she fell in love with the colour scheme on a doll like this one. He's all contrasts - strong guy with a resting expression that makes you think twice but he's so so soft.

this isn't really a tutorial but this is how i usually color warm skintones. just abuse brightness, contrasts and saturations and paint over it until it looks a lil pretty lmao
@lunwil Other than my inability to have good contrasts, you mean? 🤔 Probably the way I inhale the paint Perylene Violet-- even in pieces where you don't see purples, I can assure you it's there in the mix somewhere... It's a weird one, but it just feels wrong to paint without it...
To illustrate the 'no rules, just tools' mantra, sometimes you use the concepts but dial in how much value separation for desired effect. U can pull back on contrasts (in the case of this torchlit witch burning) or dial the contrast to 11 (in this dramatically lit closeup dialog)

@waschbaerella The first in a series of portraits that will have glowing tattoos, abstract color on their bodies and badass hair. The realistic rendering on the face and hand contrasts to the coloring on the rest of the piece, suggesting a spotlight. I utilized the tattoos to hint at form.

My hair grew so much and heavy that I have to tie it up everyday TvT for some reason my side bangs are uneven but I kinda like it (cuz it's edgy lmao) I also have a bad case of rbf according to ppl ive met, which contrasts my persona
