Honestly, I could see a few more new steam engines arriving on Sodor in the Railway Series during the late 90s and early 00s, from being brought from heritage railways and museums. The Extended Railway Series did this exact thing, and I think it's a great concept.
@AnderssonKev I'm testing different platform engines to see which one works the best for me, but right now, specifically, I added in a 23.3 degree slope that seems to be working well. It makes everything much more organic looking.

I know it’s because they reuse models of characters for them, but the one aspect about spooky stories across the franchise that I’ve always been intrigued by is how we never get to see the faces of the engines involved; it really adds to the cryptic vibes.

The entire payload bay is a prop tank and a 5.2 meter diameter payload bay is on the side. Using 17 engines it can get 30-50 tons to LEO with 600+m^3 of volume. Can use a Falcon 1 upper stage as a kick stage. Thanks to @StarshipFairing for inspiration.
