Need I remind you Mega Man was literally inspired by Astro Boy, and his first game was originally supposed to be a licensed tie-in, similar to how Donkey Kong was almost a Popeye game.

Been going through them chronologically and the less interesting entries tend to the ones where he's dealing with a little pest (though he at least handles that lame premise with more dignity than Popeye or Donald ever did), but I love the backgrounds in Pink Pest Control.
