-past KOF games' in-game graphics were vague of his default palette that looks closer to a greenish tint ('96 & '97 especially), but it's more of a dynamic choice of lighting to his uniform. '98 made the palette changes of its lighting more apparent.

what's happening is the shackles come out fine as a result because they don't have any alpha values on them, but the skin isn't being set correctly, but it also isn't intended to be transparent. The result is a black void instead. It's *supposed* to be this if you remove alpha.
