It seems JT became more common precisely because he was fast. In 1972, he also wrote almost a whole tokusatsu, 緊急指令10-4・10-10, and much later he would be the main writer on Toei's Ikkyuu-san and even script all of Tsuchida Pro's Manga Nihonshi in addition to his dorama work.

Ah so I checked out a little bit of Toei's Mushrambo cause of Kamimura's character designs.

What's interesting is there is a slight basis on cards; which puts it before Digimon Tamers by a year. It seems to have been an original work.

Interesting bit of info from the Toei site: Donbrothers was originally going to be based on Journey to the West before going w/Momotaro. I'm fine either way bc it still worked out in the end with Don Dragoku. Would've loved to see a Boar Ranger too 😭#Donbrothers
