You know, between Toei's original design for child Vegeta and Toriyama's... I think I'd go with Toei's, purely because the thought of Vegeta balding in his 20s is funny.
Toriyama's monster design of Scorpion for "Dragon Quest" (1986/05/27)
Now while it may -seem- like some plain design that's no different from an actual scorpion, the secret behind its appeal lies within its charming eyes~
@benji_mc I answer your question in detail in my book, Dragon Ball Culture Volume 3: https://t.co/N0Ga8oAqxJ I also explore the story behind Goku's dōgi color in the anime and manga, and Toriyama's intent and thoughts about these decisions.
@Ripper_30 Or maybe you should remember the manga a bit more, if for you this isn't a correct embodiement of Toriyama's adult Goku and overhaul style throughout the manga (it's literally referenced from there) then I don't now what to tell you
It looks nothing like his 23rd TB look
Toriyama's updated CD of fan favorite Mireille for Dragon Quest 6's NDS remake (2010/01/28)
In the original SFC game, she's portrayed with a graceful aura. Mixing things up, another aspect of her personality is represented via an earnest intensity in posture.
New Year's edition of "Bird Land Press" (1984/01), ft Toriyama's illustration of titular Pink of "Pink!" fame. Her gun pose is described as valiantly cute.
T. was busy enough to make his hand stiffen, requiring a warm poultice he affixed to grind the remainder with pure grit.
Toriyama's CI for WSJ, No. 28 (1989/06/13).
It really evokes the feel of a "decisive battle" against Vegeta, eh? You'll soon believe it, alongside the characters, as your hands heat up gripping the pages, trying to follow its quick pacing...!
(SN: Marketing speech is awful.)
Wanted to try drawing in Toriyama's modern style. I chose to draw Ultimate Gohan for that.

Toriyama's illustration of "Shadow Lady", featured in Katsura's 30th Anniversary artbook (2011/06/30).
As I've tweeted before, they're notably good friends. Toriyama depicts the titular character through a "retro Hollywood movie poster", likely emulating Katsura's aesthetic.
I tried imitating Toriyama's old style along with a WIP of my imitation of Yositakakka's style.
Not fully satisfied but I'm trying
I mixed Lucca with Arale arnt I cleaver hehe
Ok still in a bit of a Chrono Trigger mood so I did this today, sort of tried to mimic Toriyama's coloring style a little mostly with using white for the highlights, ok now on to important work things
Another drawing of myself, This time attempting Akira Toriyama's style, This project is really helping me learn a lot of new things!
This is my final art of 2019. A remade version of an old Zelda fanart in Toriyama's style I made 3 years ago. I'm proud of how much I've been improved in the last 3 years!

Super Saiyan God Gohan.
@CELLMANart came up with the concept/sketch and I completed the line art and colors. Gohan's gi is based on some of Toriyama's classic Dragon Ball paintings.
Bit late, but this piece was inspired by Akira Toriyama's limited color palette. I've done several pieces with these colors before, they're a personal favorite of mine.
#Inktober2019 day 2: Android 18 from Dragon Ball. Akira Toriyama's Style is so iconic, but I tried to add my own flair.

Reading Dragon Ball for the first time makes me appreciate Akira Toriyama's early art even more than I do alright
