Okay, so this is really random but I had this sketch of this old guy lying around for ages which I've been meaning to do something with. Started trying to to replicate lens flares and then ended up making a polaroid...Happy little accident 📸

Do we still hate lens flares? Cuz I like lens flares and I put a whole lot of them here. Wasn’t seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with this one so I’m glad its finished.

20 years old, 420. This picture makes me laugh so much. The utter, deadly seriousness. The bucket hat. The flares. I think I was quite miserable at the time, but in a way that is oddly nostalgic to look back at.

@vlinnstone69 Yes, the piece was pretty much done, was missing it's final comp (highlights, lens flares, etc.) I took some feedback from @gusceps and added a 3rd and 4th tone, but all of the placement was done by me. Rex did ask me to add the screentones, that was an addition!

@Bhaal_Spawn @ComChia430 The nice thing with using OpenXCom these days is that I can mod it with the Amiga/PS1 music+fonts and it feels like a beautiful merger between the DOS/Amiga games. There's even an option for "all day missions".. I really did get sick of having to throw flares everywhere. haha. 😂
@Bhaal_Spawn @ComChia430 No night missions may have been because of the relatively slow Amiga CPUs. 🤔 But it really didn't feel optimised, making me think that they didn't have time for optimisation before it went out, and maybe no time to implement darkness. I didn't mind. Throwing flares is a pain. 😁
@ComChia430 @Bhaal_Spawn ..oh yeah: The PS1 and Amiga versions used a different font too. Has a funky stylised look to it. 🤓
The Amiga version didn't have night-time missions implemented.. all missions were day-time, even though you can bring along flares. 😁 And the geoscape had an untextured globe.
