@MrTigrex44 He’s a character from the Kinnikuman series, but he’s super minor, so I don’t think we ever really get to see him in action. https://t.co/q9Getm8EX9
Strong “super sentai villain” vibe from this one. #Kinnikuman #DailyChojin
And I thought the guy with potato peeler hands was bad... #Kinnikuman #DailyChojin
Fed up with his deteriorating work conditions. #Kinnikuman #DailyChojin
And that’s where we are today. This current arc certainly has a climatic feel to it, but so far there’s no word on if it’s the end, and Yudetamago have even said they’d like to continue making Kinnikuman until they die.
To be blunt, Nisei’s time travel arc was not a big hit, but this revived OG series got a much better response. It took the focus off Kinnikuman himself and gave the supporting characters and former enemies the starring role, with arch-villain Akuma Shogun a second protagonist.
So anyway, I was talking about the Kinnikuman franchise. After finishing the sequel Nisei/Ultimate Muscle, in 2011 creators Yudetamago began a revival of the original series, set in the 1980s and picking up right where the last volume of OG Kinnikuman left off. #Kinnikuman

Who do y'all think would win Retweet for Geronimo from Kinnikuman or Like for Thunder Hawk aka T.Hawk from Street Fighter
Yudetamago have talked a bit about perhaps continuing Nisei someday (possibly with a “Neo Scramble for the Throne”, presumably a Nisei version of OG Kinnikuman’s final arc). In the meantime though, they have a new project: a revival of the 80s series! But more on that tomorrow...
After 29 volumes, in 2004 Nisei shifted to the Weekly Playboy website for its second phase: a long (28 volume!) crossover tag tournament where Mantaro and friends travel back in time to face off against Kinnikuman and co. in their prime. This ran to 2011, but was never animated.
On that note: the original Kinnikuman had two anime series, but neither were ever released in English (nor was the manga). Nisei though was released in the US as Ultimate Muscle, both in manga and anime form. This remains the only official Kinnikuman release in English.
