Matsushige Kakaricho is a civil servant rabbit from the moon. His body is a sweet potato, his ears are radishes, and he carries a lotus root bag. He’s the mascot for Matsushige Town, Tokushima Prefecture.
I have decided to learn Japan prefectures to read the news more easily. I have made maps with kanji, furigana and English to help me. 🙂 https://t.co/UEsmSTozrs
Another mischievous disaster-prevention mascot from Kochi Prefecture is the towering Tsunami-man.
Since it’s 4/20, here is Asamiko-chan the hemp fairy. Dressed as a shrine maiden, Asamiko-chan is the mascot for a traditional cannabis farm in Tottori Prefecture, Japan.
Chachamaru, the mascot of Ikeda Town in Gifu Prefecture, is a bunny with leaves for ears.
The Basan is a bird said to live in the mountains Ehime Prefecture. It is described as having a bright red cockscomb and spits an equally brilliant-hued fire. The fire is a cold fire and it does not burn. https://t.co/ApCylvavzw #yakai60 #kickstarter #ghosts #ghosthunters
Udon-Nou, a mascot from Kagawa Prefecture, literally has noodles for brains.
The mascots for Saitama Prefecture’s sewer system are a tardigrade microorganism called Kumamushi-kun and a mix of a tardigrade and a cat, called Kumanyanko-chan.
