It’s been explained that Wally covering them up was Eobard messing with his mind telling him that no one would believe him, and the explosion of him losing his powers was the speed force’s surge. It takes a bit of the blame off but the entire story should be retconned imo.

I think in this case,"retcon" is the https://t.co/TXLt2W7Nfo character itself is nothing wrong.But consistency of character is very important.Changing the personality of character afterward is I think betrayal against readers and characters.
