Found out the reason why Doug no longer has drawn thumbnails for his videos is because the artist requested a raise when asked to help with the Critic's comeback in 2013. The Walkers responded by breaking off all contact.

Turns out they were paying him around $10 per thumbnail.

Depending on the complexity I usually take 30 - 60€ for a completely shaded thumbnail.

My first sketch is always a small (1-2 inch wide) and extremely rough thumbnail. Often no one but me sees it unless it's a painting I can share on stream...

I think I redrew this sketch at least three times before moving on to the final.
