There designs aren’t getting worse, they’re branching out bit by bit, though Galar is disinteresting to me due to repeated designs, I’d say they aren’t bad designs even though I don’t like them.

Voltchan - The way he looks in the image makes the bottom half of the Voltorb orb look like a sinister smile on Hitmonchan's face, so that's what I was going with.
I also made the shoulder pads a pokeball because Voltorb is the fake-pokeball Pokemon.
