The tension with the Truckers and Eirene's fall from grace is great, but this event is every bit as bloated as [IL SIRACUSANO]. Giving smaller characters (Ingrid, Crown, Lapp, Beast Lords) the same airtime with the stars (Eirene, Penance, Mafia,) is unfocused writing.

Compared to [LONE TRAIL], the story jumps to several character storylines, but they always point back to Kristen and the consequences of her actions. This creates a sensation of urgency that slowly builds up until we finally meet her in the end.

You'd think the car crash is a mystery, but the explanation is so simple that they had to add Ingrid and Crownslayer's stories to bloat the story and delay the climax with B and C plots.
