Fun fact! In the 1980s, Jim Henson was working on a feature length fantasy film about dinosaurs under the title “The Natural History Project”!

He hired William Stout to write the film and design the film’s artistic style. Here are some of Stout’s conceptual drawings. https://t.co/FC6do3BBl4

This was my first attempt at really fleshing out a whole environment, and I'm super duper pleased! Need more of these in my portfolio to be sure, but with added figures for scale...

this is actually sort of fun conceptually, because this is the exact opposite of pegasus, who ACTUALLY cheated with what was in your mind instead of using a camera. so they have you have a fake psychic after introducing real psychics

The passage of time has made y’all forget how stupid “Avatar” is conceptually as a movie. It’s just “Dances with Wolves” with Aliens. Too young to remember “Dances with Wolves?” It’s “FernGully” but with aliens. Never saw “FernGully”? It’s “Pocahontas”... but with aliens.

however, the experimental design in some of the costumes caused a wave of dislike by fans

though the costumes are conceptually great, the execution on some of them is subpar. the clash of colors/textures (esp. bright/complex) can be seen as directionless + "sensory overload"

This is fine. It's probably good enough to get it over the hump and into the YES pile. Between this, the FAR TOO SHORT Dyna Blade, and the conceptually busted but, in fairness, playable Spring Breeze, this is certainly worth a look, which is what the YES pile is about.
